Juvia’s Place Cosmetics is having a serious moment right now!  If you haven’t heard of this black owned company, consider this your introduction!  I recently picked up the Juvia’s Place Zulu Palette during one of their sales. Juvia’s Place has turned the world of highly pigmented eye shadow palettes on its head!  Once you had to pay ridiculous amounts of money to even come close to decent eye shadow pigmentation.  And then you still had to prime your lids like crazy just to see some color payoff, especially if you are darker skinned. This palette changed all of that! The Afro-Centric packaging is some of the most stunning that I have ever seen in my entire life.  I’m not even exaggerating!  Keep reading to see for yourself!

The Zulu By Juvia’s

I recently picked up The Zulu By Juvia’s Place palette because I wanted to add some bright colors to my collection.  This did not disappoint!

Pictures do not do this palette justice!  The pigmentation is so rich and bendable.  It has 6 mattes and 2 shimmers and I duo-chrome color that I don’t have to vocabulary to accurately describe. The purple and pink shade do have a tendency to stain the skin (as with most shades like this) but I can minimize that by using a white cream base first.

My favorite this about this palette in particular is that it’s a lost more versatile than it looks.  I created colorful as well as more subdues looks with just this palette alone.

The purple shade is the real star of the show! It’s the eyeshadow equivalent of a grape.

The best part is that Juvia’s Place is now available at select Ulta’s so you can swatch for yourself.
