L.A. Girl HD Pro Conceal is an OG YouTube favorite!  And for good reason.  This concealer is one of the first products that I ever purchased on the recommendation of a “Beauty Guru”.

Product Description:

From the L.A. Girl Website:

L.A. Girl’s HD Pro Concealer is crease-resistant with opaque coverage in a creamy, yet lightweight texture. The long-wearing formula camouflages darkness under the eyes, redness and skin imperfections. Provides complete, natural-looking coverage, evens skin tone, covers dark circles and minimizes fine lines around the eyes.

Color

L.A. Girl HD Pro Conceal is one of the few drugstore concealers that have a better than average shade range. It comes in 28 shades the conceal, correct, contour and highlight, which is a tall order for one product. I really appreciate that they’ve found a way to NOT have huge jumps between colors.  Nothing is more frustrating than looking for complexion products only to see 50 Shades of Beige and 4 “deep” colors!  I’m currently using the color toast to conceal and orange to correct.

Keep in mind that complexion products DO look different wet vs. dry.

Consistency

This concealer is really creamy and smooth.  I wouldn’t exactly call it “lightweight. One other drawback is the water in the concealer can separate from the pigment and sometimes the clear part comes out first. But it’s easily fixable by squeezing the tube a bit with the cap on until it mixes back together.

Application

This concealer has a brush tipped applicator and that can get clogged and feel gunky sometimes. Sometimes if you squeeze too hard, too much product will come out at once.  There’s no way of putting it back, it’s like trying to put toothpaste back in the tube! Another issue I have with the applicator is that fact that it’s something repeatedly being applied to my face because, germs! I regularly sanitize all of my makeup monthly with rubbing alcohol.  A quick spray and wipe down keeps things a little cleaner.

Blendability

The texture is really smooth and blends really well. The dry down takes a little longer but really gives you time to work with it. And like with just about every concealer ever invented, it will, after some time, settle into fine lines.  I just lightly pat over the top to smooth it out again and I’m ready to go.

All in all, L.A. Girl HD Pro Conceal is a wonder, affordable drugstore option to conceal, correct, highlight and contour. The only real drawback is the product separation and the brush applicator which is fixable by squeezing it into a small jar for easier application.
